On Wanderlust and Whitman: Interview with Photojournalist B.A. Van Sise

by Nathan James Thomas

On any given day, you may find B.A. Van Sise teaching a photography course in Mongolia, testing vintage film in Kosovo, touring with the Cuban National Circus, or riding shotgun in a US Coast Guard helicopter. A writer, photographer, and lover of American poetry, B.A. has channeled his restlessness into photographic projects that have been exhibited across America, shown in publications from Buzzfeed to the New York Times, and of course, graced the pages of Intrepid Times! To kick off a new season of the Intrepid Times podcast, B.A sat down with editor Nathan James Thomas to talk about his work and travels, as well as his famous ancestor Walt Whitman. Enjoy!
