Rebecca's love for travel began as a child, while reading endless adventure books by flashlight and taking cross-country road trips with her family. Originally from the Chicago area, she studied International Studies and started her writing career as a reporter and editor for her college newspaper before moving to Seoul, South Korea, to teach English and explore Asia, including Cambodia, where this story was born. Later, Rebecca moved to Los Angeles and found herself producing reality television while writing on the side. Over the past decade, her production work has taken her to destinations across the U.S. and around the globe, including Milan, Miami, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Canada, Costa Rica, and more. Some of her most memorable vacations include a round-trip road trip from Los Angeles to Cabo San Lucas at the tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula in a 1999 Honda Civic coupe–navigating solely with an outdated motorcycle travel guide–spending a week sailing the Mediterranean on a catamaran, and running a half-marathon in North Korea. Her work has been published in Vice, Roads & Kingdoms, ESPN-W, and the New York Times. Rebecca is currently a freelance television producer and a travel writer for Islands.com.
