Tina Lam
Tina was a reporter for 30 years–10 at the Ann Arbor News (in the good old days–1980s) and the Detroit Free Press for 20, covering prisons, casinos, city pension fund corruption, lead poisoning and Michigan’s environment. She also taught Media Law and Ethics at the University of Michigan-Dearborn for 11 years. She retired from the FreeP in 2012 and from teaching in 2017. Her memoirs are about living and traveling in Europe, Brazil, and South Africa. Most recently, she has been writing about her transformative year in Europe as a 20-year-old. Her husband just retired and together, they have moved to Durango, Colorado, where they both grew up. Besides writing, Tina loves hiking, paddleboarding, e-biking, and skiing. This is her third year in the Memoir group.
