Your Instructor: Shafik Meghji
Shafik Meghji is an award-winning travel writer and journalist. His books include “Small Earthquakes”, named Travel Narrative Book of the Year at the British Guild of Travel Writers Awards 2025 and shortlisted for the Edward Stanford Travel Book of the Year 2026, and “Crossed Off the Map”, shortlisted for both awards in 2023. A former Evening Standard reporter, Shafik has worked on all seven continents, co-authored more than 45 guidebooks for Rough Guides, Lonely Planet and DK Eyewitness, and written widely for outlets such as BBC Travel, National Geographic Traveller, Wanderlust and the Guardian.

Nathan James Thomas is the founder of Intrepid Times (2014) and author of “Travel Your Way” (2022) and “Untethered” (2023).
