Announcing the “Your First Published Article” Intrepid Times Scholarship Program

Dear Writer,

Breaking into the travel writing world has never been easy. Right now, it’s probably harder than it’s ever been. But with the uncertainty also comes great opportunities. The travel writers who break through now will define a whole new generation of how we tell stories about the world.

Since 2014, Intrepid Times has been a home not just for established and popular travel authors, but also for first-time writers who have a voice and a compelling story to tell.

With the “Your First Published Article” scholarship, we are going to take up to three aspiring travel writers and help you plan, craft, and deliver your first professionally published travel article.

Here’s the process:

  1. Apply with the process below—it is free and only takes a few minutes.
  2. If you get accepted, you will be put in touch with a senior Intrepid Times editor. Together, you will work on the idea for a true travel story that has publishing potential.
  3. Once you have decided on a worthy topic, you and your mentor will work out a plan and structure.
  4. Then, you will write the article within a reasonable time frame and send it to your editor-mentor for feedback.
  5. Together, you will improve the article, bringing it into its best possible form.
  6. Your article will be published on IntrepidTimes.com.
  7. Not only is the article fully attributed to you, but you will also get paid our standard writer’s fee!

This program is designed to help aspiring writers with passion get over their obstacles and break into the travel writing space. Three writers will be selected based on the applications received. Application is completely free.

Application is free and the deadline is September 1, 2020.
Please fill out the form to proceed to the Application Page.

We will use these details to keep you updated on the status of your application and occasional news about the scholarship program.

Best of luck,
The Intrepid Times Team
